Frequently asked questions
What size capsule fits the Krugerrand?
The Krugerrand comes in these sizes and matching capsules: 1 oz Gold Krugerrand (32.77 mm); 1/2 oz Gold Krugerrand (27 mm); 1/4 oz Gold Krugerrand (22 mm); 1/10 oz Gold Krugerrand (16 mm). Match the capsule’s inside diameter to your coin.
What is the best way to store a Krugerrand?
Krugerrands are 22 carat gold alloyed with copper for hardness, but a capsule still protects against fingerprints and edge knocks that affect grading. A PVC-free acrylic capsule, either direct fit or black ring, protects the coin from handling, dust and air.
